Existing Description More than 80 people are reported dead after multiple earthquakes struck the region straddling south-western China's Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces on Friday 7th September 2012. The quakes – the strongest 5.7 magnitude - also left about 800 injured and 200,000 people evacuated. One of the main evacuation centres, with Red Cross tents and relief supplies in the foreground. RCSC has mobilised thousands of quilts and warm jackets and hundreds of tents to the region. But getting support to whole who need it continues to be a logistical challenge.
