SummaryAs part of the response to the Emergency Appeal launched after the heavy rains and flooding in El Tambo, Tosagua canton, the Ecuadorian Red Cross—through its Manabí branch—provided humanitarian assistance to 164 affected families. The aid included hygiene kits, mosquito nets, and jerrycans to help meet urgent needs in the aftermath of the disaster. During the delivery, representatives from the Ecuadorian Red Cross and the IFRC were present, including Provincial President Nelson Miled Muñoz Tuma; IFRC Head of Andean Countries, Steve McAndrew; IFRC Operations Manager, Rodolfo V.; and National Risk Management Program Coordinator, Roger Zambrano. The team also conducted a technical visit to the affected communities of Verdum and San Ramón. These efforts were made possible thanks to the commitment of Red Cross volunteers from the Tosagua and Portoviejo branches, and the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
