Existing DescriptionKenema, Sierra Leone, Sept 2014
IFRC opened its first ever Ebola treatment centre in Kenema, Sierra Leone in Sept. It will house 60 patients at full capacity but will scale up operations to ensure the safety of staff. The centre is divided into a high risk and low risk area. In the high risk area, there are separate areas for suspected, probable and confirmed cases. When staff enter the high risk area they must wear the full personal protective equipment.
